Jewelry has been the part of human life right from the primitive era. Humans first used leaves and flowers to adorn themselves. As the civilization progressed, the things used to adorn the body and the gemstone jewelry used began to change.
Use of metals and gem stones for adornment slowly came in to use. Ancient civilizations made good use of metals like gold, silver, copper, bronze, nickel etc. Gem stones were not only used as jewelry but also as currency and were considered as assets of the rich and the famous. Nothing much seems to have changed, since then, except for the metals used.
The latest fashion trend is to blend utility and aesthetics together, in jewelry. The youth in general have become quite picky and fashion conscious, when it comes to jewelry and accessories. They seem to base their choices on many factors like weight, attractiveness and recommendations by the fashion brigade and celebrities.
Silver is a wonderful metal for daily use, light weight, economical, and resistant to color changes.
